iPhone apps for remote controls, tax tools, more

Crestron recently announced an app that will turn the iPad into a remote control that can communicate with a Crestron system in your home to control lighting, shades, room temperatures and more. While that’s interesting and very useful, it also reminded us that there are many apps out there than you can download to turn your iPhone, iTouch and (soon) iPad into remote controls. Here’s a look at what you can download from the App Store:

Crestron app turns iPad into a remote

We’ve already seen how the iPhone can become a remote control for Sonos wireless audio systems simply by downloading an app. So it only makes sense that the upcoming release of the iPad will see it handle duties beyond the obvious e-reader capabilities that have been a big part of its rollout.
One of the first announced is from Crestron, which has created an iPad App that can use 3G, 3GS or Wi-Fi to communicate with the Crestron system to control lighting, shades, room temperatures and more. Read more about the application in Electronic House Product News.
