- Supports Bluetooth A2DP using original SBC encoded form or latest higher quality apt-X encoded form
Turn your mobile, smartphone, tablet or computer into a wireless hi-fi component. By connecting Cambridge Audio's new BT100 to any supported Cambridge Audio product, you can now stream music wirelessly from your iPhone, smartphone, iPad, tablet, laptop or any device that supports Bluetooth to your hi-fi or entertainment system.
If your smartphone or tablet supports the aptX audio enhancement CODEC the BT100 can support it as well. AptX, which is featured on a growing number of mobile devices as well as MacBooks and Apple desktop computers, allows audio to be broadcast wirelessly in significantly higher quality than over standard Bluetooth. You'll instantly notice more extensive dynamic range, deeper bass and crystal-clear top end.
Standard Bluetooth codec (SBC) has variable performance and its weaknesses are very apparent to music lovers including a reduction in high end clarity, muddiness or dullness on stringed content. Conversely, the aptX codec has a fixed performance standard to guarantee a consistently excellent quality when music data is transferred wirelessly over Bluetooth. With almost CD-quality reproduction on offer, you'll instantly experience significantly greater dynamics and infinitely more detail from your favorite music.
BT100 and Blutooth Audio streaming
The BT100 is compatible with the following Cambridge Audio products:
- DacMagic Plus
- Sonata NP30
- Stream Magic 6
Selecting the BT100 as an input on the compatible Cambridge Audio product, allows that product to receive wireless Bluetooth audio from most phones/tablets and laptops.
When connected to your Cambridge Audio product, the BT100 allows it to receive BluetoothAudio (known as Bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution Profile or A2DP).
The BT100 supports Bluetooth A2DP using either the original SBC encoded form or the latest higher quality apt-X encoded form (if the sending device supports it).
