Introducing the № 5909
Lose yourself in your music with the first-ever headphones from Mark Levinson, a pioneer in high-fidelity audio for the past 50 years. Reference-quality sound meets luxurious comfort in a lightweight and durable set of headphones featuring Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that’s perfect for travel. Reveal the hidden details in your music – at home, on the go, or anywhere you find a moment to listen.
Impeccable Performance
Experience incredible audio performance from these high-resolution wireless headphones, and discover all the nuances and subtleties in your favorite music. Featuring adaptive ANC to reduce background noise, the Mark Levinson № 5909 delivers reference-quality sound via 40 mm beryllium-coated drivers and high-resolution Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.
Designer Sound
The № 5909 has been engineered to provide you with optimal sound for an over-ear headphone. Its sound profile has been expertly tuned to an acoustic response curve that achieved the highest subjective scoring across listening tests. Experience reference-quality sound, the culmination of decades of research into listening preferences and the science of acoustics.
Crystal Clear Calls
Hold conversations comfortably, in nearly any environment. Four beam-steering microphones with Smart Wind Adaption prevent your voice from being muddled by outside noise. At the same time, ANC blocks ambient sounds so you can focus on what’s being said. Connect with family, chat with friends, and hold business calls – all in near-perfect clarity.
Designed For Travel
Dive deep into your music and block out background noise as you travel. Three modes of Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation allow you to enjoy the subtle details in your music even amid noisy environments, such as during air travel. For added convenience, an Ambient Aware mode lets you talk to those around you without removing your headphones.

What’s Included
The ML 5909 is absolutely fantastic. I've been able to test them against a number of wireless headphones and overall they take the cake. Do they have the strongest ANC or call quality? They're really good but that belongs to the Sony Wh-1000XM5. The best transparency? Well that's the Airpods Max. Most comfortable? I'd probably give that to the Focal Bathys but the 5909 are pretty close. Sound quality though? Well that's the 5909 as it just sounds soo good. Wirelessly it picks up more nuances, has clearer treble, and has a cleaner bass than any of the other wireless options I've tried all while still sounding fun. The icing on the cake is that for as good as it sounds wireless it sounds even better wired and depending on the source it's run from the audio only keeps improving. Add all that to its unboxing, the case, the accessories and the build quality, then the $1000 price tag starts to look VERY reasonable. The only other 2 headphones I can say offer it serious competition are the Dali io-12 and T+A Solitaire T... but those two are also $300-$600 more than the 5909 and I'm not so sure that they actually are the better sets. All in all I love my ML 5909 and I'm pretty sure anyone who hears them will say the same.
Good noise cancelation, they sound great, very clean and clear sound bluetooth or wired.
I'll be selling my Klipsch HP-3, Nuraphone, V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless and probably my Fostex T20RP mk3, because the 5909 is so great-sounding, comfortable and versatile. It's pretty much everything I want in a higher-end set of headphones.
I also owned the Bathys, the B&O H95, the Airpods Max, and the Px8. These have more clarity, a wider sound stage, and are more comfortable with better ANC. They are incredibly accurate, especially good if you listen to classical and acoustic jazz. They come with quality accessories. Run passively, they hold up their own compared to wired closed back headphones in the $600-$1000 price range. Fantastic headphones!
