NEWLY DESIGNED FRAME BEAM BASE CHASSIS
The chassis of the ES model has been fundamentally revised: the overall thickness has been increased for improved rigidity, and the structures of the transformer base and other weight-bearing parts have also been redesigned to improve the instantaneous power and crispness of the sound, when compared to a conventional chassis.
OFFSET SCREW POSITION FOOT
Designed with an offset screw position to both eliminate the resonance point and avoid frequency-specific, vibration-inducing resonance transmission to and from the transformer, the foot also contains additional ribs for increased rigidity and improved resonance control.
UPDATED HEAT SINK
A more uniform shape applied to the heat sink enables the amplifier circuit to withstand unwanted vibration. The heat sink bracket also shields the digital circuit from radiation, for sound quality that has more stability and clarity.
REFRESHED DIGITAL CIRCUIT BOARD
Metal ES-grade frames both secure the circuit board and protect it from vibration caused by speaker sound pressure. The varying fin length of the integrated heat sink reduces audible resonance uniformity while also shielding delicate circuitry from noise.
NEW DAC ENABLES 32-BIT OPERATIONS
Digital PCM signal input is processed at 32-bit and converted to analog by the DAC, while DSD signal input during direct mode is natively input to the DAC and converted to an analog signal.
IMPROVED ANALOG POWER FOR DAC
The DAC analog power supply uses a low- noise power supply IC to ensure that hi-fidelity performance is achieved

A Phenomenal Upgrade to My Home Theater System

After years of loyalty to my Denon AVR-X3200, I decided it was time for an upgrade and opted for the Sony STR-ZA7000ES receiver. I'm absolutely thrilled to report that this decision has significantly enhanced my audio experience. The STR-ZA7000ES has taken my home theater sound to an entirely new level. The auto-calibration system works wonders right out of the box, adjusting the audio to perfectly suit my room's acoustics. The spatial audio mix brings a lifelike, immersive sound that truly envelops you, whether you're watching movies, listening to music, or playing video games. The clarity, depth, and detail in the sound are simply unmatched. Upgrading to a new receiver often comes with the fear of compatibility issues, but the STR-ZA7000ES integrated flawlessly with my existing Control4 system. Who cares about AM radio?

Imagine someone not buying a home theater receiver because it doesn't have AM radio. Who buys something at this level and listens to crappy AM sound quality? What this receiver does better than anything else I've heard though, is spacial effects. It does a great job with atmos movies, as well as throws a wide and accurate soundstage for 2 channel listening. The only thing I wish this had was Dirac room correction. If you value that feature above all else, then Marantz may be the better pick.
