Science Makes Silence.
In our never-ending quest for the lowest possible noise floor, we tackled the duplex cover with our patented UEF Technology, advanced material science, and dampening to build the ultimate duplex cover. We started with carbon fiber specially woven to eliminate vibration and added a UEF treatment to dramatically improve the performance of your duplex by shielding EMI and RFI within the duplex cover and then applied a unique closed cell foam for additional vibration control. The net effect is a lower system noise floor, and this translates into blacker backgrounds with improved microdynamics and increased air and surprisingly, improved overall dynamics in well-balanced systems. Think of our Carbon Fiber Duplex Cover as the Blue Fuse for your AC at the wall, it’s that impressive.
Fits most duplexs including SR UEF Blue and Black Duplex, and SR TeslaPlex.
The duplex gets the multi-stage high-voltage Quantum Tunneling treatment said to improve both current and voltage transfer. And it gets the same UEF compound developed for their top of the line Galileo SX PowerCell which gives many of their products the holographic sound for which they are well known.
The music sprang to life again, surpassing the quality even with the stainless steel cover. With a clearer sound, increased dynamics, and more air, I discovered that loosening the center screw that anchors the carbon fiber cover to the duplex outlet allowed the cover to de-couple from the duplex outlet and the junction box, which likely reduced micro-vibrations from the duplex outlet/AC plug connection. Although it is easy to overthink this, the quad cover ($199) or single duplex ($149) in any rig costing $30,000 or more is a no-brainer recommendation, provided you do not over-tighten it and diminish your music's vitality. Upon further investigation, I discovered that Ted also uses the UEF treatment to shield EMI/RFI on the duplex covers.
