Custom TV installed near indoor spa

This large residence features seven bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, numerous decks including a large patio with fireplace, and a full exercise room with an indoor hot tub. It was purchased by the client as a skiing and golf vacation home in the Colorado mountains just three hours from their main Colorado residence. The home's previous systems control and distributed A/V system was dated and inoperable. Our main task was to replace the system with an updated Control4 system to match the homeowners current residence.

Entertaining is extremely important to the homeowners as is global control of the various system — lighting, window treatments, thermostats, etc. — as well as surveillance cameras to check on the local weather and security of the home. As an existing home, the removal of current equipment and replacement is always, and in this case perhaps the largest challenge, the lighting control system.

"There was some very 'creative' lighting wiring and switching in the home, and this was also one of the first projects ListenUp had ever completed electrically," the project's design and sales lead Dusty Gorski explains. "Our electricians went out and replaced all traditional rocker switches with Lutron keypads. Similarly, the lack of labeling and cut wires made the video and audio signal transfer more challenging than it should have been."

The centerpiece of this elegant installation is a custom $17K 75" Séura Mirror TV featuring a large gold frame. It's a TV when it's on, but a perfect mirror when it's off. "It took six of us to hang it because it's so heavy with the glass, and it's on a stone surface, so a lot of work went into hanging it," says Gorski.

75" custom mirror TV and iron staircase

When it comes to aesthetics, the home, which backs up to the world renowned Beaver Creek Golf Course and Ski Resort, also features a one-of-a-kind iron staircase with branches and leaves.
