How does SoundEngine do it? Traditional amplifiers utilize “Global Negative Feedback Loops” to reduce
signal errors. Negative Feedback was developed in the 1930s for low-fidelity telephone systems. In
modern, high performance audio amplifiers, however, Negative Feedback actually multiplies certain
types of distortions from one gain stage to the next, particularly at high frequencies to which the human
ear is particularly sensitive; by comparison, SoundEngine uses ZERO global negative feedback, instead
employing a unique “FeedForward” circuit which eliminates high frequency distortions before they reach
the next stage of the amplifier.
The result is a combination of strengths which had previously been irreconcilable. SoundEngine delivers
the quiet, distortion-free perfection of Class A amplifiers but with substantially higher power and lower
cost. Just as importantly, the low-bias output circuits made possible by SoundEngine generate very little
heat, making Hegel a “Décor-Friendly” alternative when components will be hidden in the room. On the
