The Hegel V10's impeccable performance, characterized by its neutral and dynamic sound, exceptional transparency, and innovative design, elevates the vinyl listening experience to new heights, making it an essential companion for audio enthusiasts.
Introducing the Hegel V10, a revolutionary approach to a classic technology. Drawing from three decades of expertise in crafting cutting-edge discrete transistor circuits, we've meticulously engineered a phono preamplifier that stands apart. The V10 is characterized by its neutrality, dynamic performance, and exceptional transparency, aimed at delving into the depths of your vinyl records to unveil every nuance.
Designed to capture the essence of sound, the V10 enhances your vinyl listening experience, bringing you closer to the music and the groove. Vinyl appreciation is a tactile journey—from carefully opening the album jacket to placing the needle on the platter. With the V10, we strive to elevate this experience. Through innovative technologies and a ground-up development approach, the V10 offers unprecedented transparency and a captivating soundscape, making your music as tangible and real as the vinyl it's pressed into.
Every aspect of the V10 is meticulously crafted to optimize your music's quality. The chassis is divided into two compartments, isolating power supplies from sensitive amplification circuitry to eliminate interference. Gold-plated terminals, balanced XLR outputs, and a custom grounding screw ensure optimal connections. The input stage employs ultra-low-noise discrete JFET transistors for both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) inputs, achieving a silent and interference-free signal.
The V10's amplification circuits, utilizing discrete bipolar transistors, maintain ultra-low noise power supplies for both MM and MC gain stages, ensuring accurate signal amplification. The included linear, low-noise analog AC-power supply features a large custom-designed E-core transformer, eliminating interference possibilities.
Recognizing diverse preferences, the V10 is configured as an excellent plug-and-play MM preamplifier out of the box. However, for those seeking more customization, it is highly optimizable. Adjustable parameters include capacitance (100-467 pF) and impedance (33-550 ohms or fixed at 47 kohms) for MM and MC cartridges, along with variable gain settings (5, 10, or 12 dB) and a Subsonic Filter to eliminate unwanted low-frequency noise.
To ensure a seamless experience, the V10 incorporates an adjustable auto standby function, turning off after a late-night listening session. With its versatility and precision, the V10 stands as the perfect companion for your vinyl setup, creating synergy between your system and individual listening preferences, and ultimately transporting you into the groove.

Manual was well thought out and easy to understand. Appreciate not having to download. Sounds very good with my Rega P8.
I own a Denon pma-a110 integrated amp. That we phono built-in was great, and I really loved it. Until I decided to give this Hegel v10 a try. This is a much better sound in every way. In comparation, the Denon sounded like it’s compressed, and v10 just open every thing up. It’s clean details, voice vocal just breath easily, music separation are greater than before and soundstage is very big. Once listen to, it’s never going back. Loving it.
...and that's a good thing. The Hegel V10 is invisible. Turned my amp (no record playing) all the way up and there is no noise. That was not the case with my previous phono stage or even the built in phono stage. Start playing something and I hear everything you are supposed to. Pairs great with my Hana Umami Red. Well designed, well built, well done. For a first attempt at a phono stage, Hegel nailed it.
The Hegel V10 MM MC phono preamp ended my search for a match for my low output MC cartridge. I had tried four phono preamps, two of them almost twice as expensive. I read a couple of review of the Hegel, and decided to give it a try. I have a gorgeous and steady Rega P10 with Rega’s Aphelion 2 cartridge, and now I can play any album at whatever volume I want with zero noise. Hallelujah!
