Dual subwoofers deliver smoother, more consistent bass throughout the room by reducing the peaks and dips that often occur with a single subwoofer. By overlapping room modes, properly placed dual subs create more even low-frequency response across a wider seating area, so every listener enjoys deeper, tighter, more impactful bass. They also make room correction systems like Audyssey MultEQ more effective for achieving balanced, immersive performance.

I built my first Dolby Pro Logic surround sound system back in 1996. Two homes later, I’m now on my fifth—and favorite—subwoofer: the SVS SB-2000 Pro. Over the years, I’ve owned subwoofers that came close to SVS performance but weren’t reliable (one brand failed on me twice…ugh). I’ve also had subs that were dependable, but simply didn’t deliver the output, control, and musicality that SVS does. SVS has been the best balance of performance and reliability I’ve experienced. My current room is relatively small and sits directly on a solid foundation, so the SB-2000 Pro is a perfect fit. But if I were working with a larger or more challenging space, I’d absolutely be looking at the new SVS 3000 R|Evolution Series. The upgrades span everything that matters—driver, amplifier, DSP, cabinet design, and even the user interface, including a rear-panel display that can be adjusted for your viewing angle. SVS engineers truly seem to think of everything.

A Pair of SVS SB-3000 R|Evolution Subwoofer

The

The SVS SB-3000 R|Evolution is a reference-grade sealed subwoofer built for listeners who want deep, accurate, room-pressurizing bass without giving up speed, detail, or living-room-friendly placement. A high-excursion 13-inch front-firing driver and the STA-1200D2 Class-D amplifier (1,200W RMS / 4,000+W peak) deliver effortless slam for movies while staying tight and musical for two-channel listening. Under the hood, a 295MHz Analog Devices DSP with advanced power management and ultra-low distortion keeps output clean and controlled at any volume, even on demanding low-frequency scenes. Fine-tune everything from your seat using the SVS Subwoofer Control App (Bluetooth), with deep DSP tools for blending perfectly with any system, from home theater to audiophile stereo setups. The SVS SB-3000 R|Evolution is part of ListenUp's SVS Sealed Subwoofers Collection.

Dual subwoofers deliver smoother, more consistent bass throughout the room by reducing the peaks and dips that often occur with a single subwoofer.
