ListenUp’s 2025 event recap: SmartXplained lighting, AudioQuest nights, Abbey Road demos, Taylor Swift vinyl, Tech & Tacos, KLH, Luxman, Loveland.
From lighting innovation to vinyl celebrations, 2025 was a milestone year for ListenUp. Across Colorado and New Mexico, our stores hosted hands-on demos, expert workshops, and unforgettable listening events that brought music lovers, designers, and tech enthusiasts together. Here’s a look back at the highlights that defined our year.
SmartXplained Lighting Workshop with Peter Romaniello

April’s SmartXplained Lighting Workshop in Golden shined a light on design innovation with guest expert Peter Romaniello, IALD. Over three days, attendees explored how lighting transforms living spaces, with sessions from partners like Lutron, DMF, WAC, Proluxe, Savant, and Lucietta. The workshop strengthened connections between designers, builders, and integrators, proving that lighting is as much about emotion as technology.
An Evening with AudioQuest

In June, ListenUp hosted An Evening with AudioQuest across Denver, Colorado Springs, and Albuquerque, drawing more than 90 guests eager to elevate their listening experience. AudioQuest’s Ken Forsythe and Stan Beil demonstrated how the right cables and power solutions can transform everyday systems. The event made one thing clear: great sound isn’t just for audiophiles — it’s for everyone who loves music.
Bowers & Wilkins Abbey Road Experience

Later that month, the Bowers & Wilkins 801 Abbey Road Limited Edition loudspeakers arrived at ListenUp. To celebrate this rare $70,000 release, we hosted exclusive listening sessions in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Albuquerque, showcasing studio-grade sound inspired by the legendary Abbey Road Studios partnership. Guests experienced true musical history brought to life.
Enter Your Vinyl Era: Taylor Swift Night

In September, our Denver showroom transformed into a Swiftie wonderland for Enter Your Vinyl Era: A Taylor Swift Night. Fans enjoyed themed treats, crafts, and vinyl demos led by Audio-Technica’s John Tarulli and ListenUp’s Scott Genaw. From friendship bracelets to a $250,000 hi-fi setup spinning Taylor’s records, it was a night of nostalgia, community, and pure analog magic.
Tech & Tacos in Boulder

October turned up the flavor with Tech & Tacos at our Boulder showroom. Sponsored by Control4 and featuring local favorite McDevitt Taco Supply, guests explored smart home demos, met with experts, and enjoyed big giveaways, including SunBrite 43” Outdoor TVs. The event blended great food, friendly faces, and hands-on learning about the future of connected living.
KLH Open House: Model Seven Spotlight

Later in October, ListenUp hosted KLH Model Seven Spotlight open houses in Denver and Boulder, featuring Dave Kelley, President of KLH Audio. Guests dropped in for relaxed listening sessions, live Q&A, and conversations centered on KLH’s heritage and design philosophy. It was a celebration of craftsmanship and musicality, with the Model Seven doing what it does best: speaking for itself.
Luxman Centennial Stack Showcase

This fall also marked a major milestone as ListenUp officially welcomed Luxman to our family of brands during its 100th anniversary year. The Luxman Centennial Stack Showcase in Denver and Colorado Springs gave attendees the chance to experience the limited Centennial Stack Black Edition, a striking system built to honor a century of Japanese hi-fi engineering. The events showcased Luxman’s signature blend of precision, build quality, and musical truth.
Loveland Holiday Open House

We wrapped up the year with a festive Holiday Open House at ListenUp Loveland in December celebrating our newest Northern Colorado location, formerly Timberline Audio Video. Guests enjoyed guided showroom tours, hands-on demos of premium audio, video, and smart home solutions, plus seasonal bites, drinks, and giveaways, with support from Sony and DMF Lighting.
Looking Ahead
2025 was packed with moments that reminded us why we do what we do: bring people together through better experiences with music, design, and technology. As we head into 2026, we’re excited to keep building on that momentum with more demos, more education, and more community-driven events.
