Rega ND3 Moving Magnetic Cartridge

Developed over a decade, the all-new Nd3 moving magnet cartridge represents a groundbreaking leap in performance. The Nd range (patent pending) is a world first, utilizing ultra-high-powered Neodymium magnets to create a truly unique design.

Each Nd3 cartridge is meticulously hand-made by our skilled technicians. The stylus features a high-quality elliptical profile made from manmade polycrystalline diamond, bonded to a round titanium shank. The design incorporates a new generator geometry with perfect symmetry, ensuring precise channel balance. The optimized pole gap enhances linearity and cross talk characteristics, resulting in a much wider soundstage than previous models. Miniaturized parallel coils, wound in-house using 38-micron wire with 1,275 turns, create a low inductance, low impedance generator that significantly improves high-frequency response. In alignment with our sustainability commitment, the Nd range comes in 100% recyclable packaging.

Nd Magnet Technology

Commonly used in Moving Coil designs, including our own, the Nd3 is the first moving magnet cartridge to employ a Neodymium (Nd) N55 magnet—the most powerful commercially available magnet. This crucial component delivers more power than standard bar magnet designs, enabling this unique design.

Glass-Filled PPS Body

The assembly is housed in a zero-tolerance, injection-molded glass-filled polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) body, a lightweight and highly rigid material. The low mass body reduces stress on the tonearm bearings, allowing free movement, which is critical for accurate vinyl replay. This body design draws inspiration from our successful MC range.

Cantilever & Stylus Profile

The Nd3's aluminum cantilever is fitted with a bonded precision elliptical stylus, offering exceptional tracking accuracy and extracting high levels of detail from vinyl records.

Factory Fitted Options

The Nd3 cartridge is available as a factory-fitted option on the Planar 2 and Planar 3 turntables, delivering exceptional performance and value. The factory-fitted package is offered at a discounted rate compared to purchasing separately—ask your Rega dealer for details.

Rega Rebuild Scheme

Rega cartridges feature a unique pivot pad design that eliminates the mechanical joint between the stylus housing and the main body, vastly improving tracking ability and stylus stability. If your Rega cartridge is damaged or worn out, return it to your Rega dealer for a rebuild, which includes a new cantilever, stylus, and pivot pad. Each rebuild is fully tested as a new cartridge would be and is sold at a reduced price, comparable to the cost of a replacement stylus from other manufacturers.
