TEAC PD-505T CD Transport

The PD-505T is a long-anticipated addition to our Reference 500 Series, featuring a newly designed CD drive inspired by the proven specifications of our professional-grade products. This model is built on the foundation of the CD-5020A, a drive known for its durability and long-standing use in professional applications. The PD-505T enhances this design with innovations such as semi-floating mounting and a newly developed drive circuit, ensuring precise CD reading with high purity.

Key Features:

  1. Enhanced CD Drive Design:

    • The PD-505T's CD drive builds on the TEAC CD-5020A, refined for optimal performance in this model.
    • Semi-floating mounting minimizes vibration feedback, preserving audio quality by preventing interference from chassis vibrations.
  2. Advanced Circuit Design:

    • A newly developed drive control circuit provides smoother motor operation, resulting in a more open, natural sound.
    • BTL drive technology reduces switching noise, improving signal purity from the spindle motor to the pickup lens actuator.
    • Independent toroidal core transformers power the CD drive, display, and audio circuits, each with discrete circuits for enhanced sound quality.
  3. Precision Clocking:

    • An internal low-phase-noise crystal oscillator ensures accurate digital signal output.
    • The PD-505T supports 10MHz external clock input, enabling further refinement of sound quality and synchronization in advanced digital systems.
  4. Robust Hardware Design:

    • An all-metal enclosure shields against external electromagnetic noise while offering a stylish, compact footprint.
    • The 8mm-thick aluminum side panels enhance structural integrity, ensuring stability and precision.
    • The unit is equipped with our new Stressless Foot design, which features three loosely connected support points for more natural sound resonance.
  5. Semi-Floating Top Panel:

    • The top panel is partially fixed, secured only by the side panels, contributing to a sound with a sense of openness.

Specifications:

  • Supported Media: Audio CD (CD-R/CD-RW compatible)
  • Digital Audio Outputs:
    • Coaxial: RCA (gold-plated), 0.5Vp-p, 75Ω
    • Optical: TOS (JEITA RC5720C)
  • Clock Sync Input:
    • Connector: BNC (gold-plated)
    • Input Frequency: 10MHz
    • Input Level: TTL (rectangle wave), 0.5 to 1.0Vrms (sine wave)
  • Power: AC120V, 60Hz / AC220-240V, 50/60Hz
  • Dimensions: 290 (W) × 84.5 (H) × 248.8 (D) mm (including protrusions)
  • Weight: 4.0kg
  • Included Accessories: AC cord, Remote control (RC-1338), AAA batteries × 2, Foot pads × 3, Owner's manual (with warranty)
