A beautifully crafted floorstanding speaker that punches well above it's weight
Meet the flagship of the Signature range, the Signature Alpha. This impressive floorstanding loudspeaker stands tall at 1.3 meters and embodies the fusion of TRIANGLE's acoustic expertise and technological innovation. Crafted with meticulous care in France at TRIANGLE's Soissons workshop, the Alpha exemplifies the pinnacle of audio craftsmanship.
Bolstered by Magellan R&D, the Signature Alpha boasts high-density cabinets that elevate your acoustic journey to unprecedented heights. Every mechanical aspect has been scrutinized and refined to enhance overall performance.
The Alpha loudspeaker incorporates a semi-pod-mounted horn-loaded tweeter, a precision-engineered paper midrange with small pleated suspensions, and three purpose-built woofers designed exclusively for this model. It incorporates all the Signature technologies, including a twin vent that ensures complete woofer insulation for unparalleled sound transparency.
The Signature Alpha is a robust speaker renowned for its deep and rapid bass. It is ideally suited for larger rooms, exceeding 30 square meters in size.
Introducing the TZ2550 tweeter, featuring a new phase plug meticulously tailored for the 25 mm titanium dome. Crafted from 100% injected aluminum, originally developed for the Magellan project, the tweeter's expanded surface area offers superior dispersion of high frequencies. The back chamber's compression volume has been significantly increased to enhance shock absorbance, preventing sound wave reflections within the dome. These enhancements elevate high-frequency quality, finesse, transparency, and minimize sound distortion.
The 185 mm aluminum basket has undergone a complete redesign to enhance ventilation for its double-layered coil. Equipped with a small pleat and peripheral short-travel suspension, this redesigned midrange driver delivers heightened clarity in this critical frequency range of sound reproduction. The phase plug has been replaced with a dust cap of identical shape and size to eliminate air leaks.
The woofer driver has undergone numerous refinements, resulting in faster and deeper bass reproduction. It boasts a double magnet motor, double-layered coil, and an inverted half-roll rubber suspension, ensuring swift speaker response. The cone profile, exclusively tailored for low frequencies, combines a glass fiber membrane supported by a second paper membrane for increased rigidity.
Specifically engineered for this range, these woofers aim to reproduce low frequencies without the need for a large volume load, while maintaining linearity in high frequencies. They share the same aluminum basket and treated paper cone, achieving the perfect tonal balance. The dust cap, shaped like a phase plug, reduces power surges and eliminates aggressive sounds.
Each model is equipped with a terminal for bi-wiring or biamplification, meticulously designed and assembled by TRIANGLE. Crafted from high-quality copper alloy, these terminals provide excellent conductivity. They can accommodate a 5 mm diameter cable and banana plugs with a secure locking system for utmost security.
Performance optimization of each loudspeaker has allowed TRIANGLE to streamline the components required in its filters and audio signal path. This results in a range that delivers greater transparency and a more refined tonal balance. The new filtering system, which separates the bass section from the midrange/treble section on the Delta and Alpha models, eliminates electromagnetic wave emissions and enhances midrange/high-frequency finesse. Like all Triangle speakers, they are protected against power surges.
To achieve optimal results, the internal cable was selected through extensive listening tests. Triangle has always paid particular attention to the wiring, ensuring that the cable delivers crystal-clear sound in medium frequencies and a solid, precise sound in low frequencies. The combination of these two cables minimizes resonance and enhances performance. The use of polyethylene dielectric insulation creates a cleaner and smoother sound, while the PVC jacket on the outside maintains a low friction coefficient.
A remarkable feature of the Twin Vent is its ability to expel the rear wave generated by the two separated bass drivers through a single vent. This innovative system allows each driver to operate independently, ensuring that increasing the volume does not compromise tonal balance. The only remaining limit to distortion is the driver mechanics. The result is an astonishing power handling capability and a listening experience characterized by dynamic, solid, and sustained bass.
