In 801 Signature, the first significant change is a new aluminium top plate, replacing the standard design. This has a series of machined-out holes in the structure, strategically positioned to change the resonant frequency of the aluminium.
DAMPING COLLAR
The aluminium top-plate in 801 Signature is paired with a new design of leather-trimmed plastic ‘collar’ that slots into the aluminium top-plate. The collar contains strategically positioned wedges of Techsound damping material.
TWEETER GRILLE MESH
the new grille mesh offers a carefully optimised combination of stiffness – necessary to protect the fragile dome from unwanted damage – and openness.
BASS UNIT
In 801 Signature, the 25cm (10in) low-frequency unit has been re-engineered to deliver even lower distortion.

The port output on 801 D4 is a substantial aperture in the cabinet. 801 Signature goes one step further by upgrading the port output itself. In a standard model, the Flowport flare is plastic: in 801 Signature, it is replaced with cast aluminium.
