Okay, I admit it. At this point in my life, my media room has evolved into something resembling a sports bar, and much of my critical music listening is now done through headphones. But after 47 years in the audio business, I still have an enormous appreciation for a properly designed, high-performance two-channel audio system. Two of my very best friends own extraordinary MOON North Collection systems, both designed by ListenUp's own Scotty G. I'm fortunate enough to spend plenty of time enjoying these systems, and they serve as a wonderful reminder of just how engaging and emotionally involving a great stereo system can be. That's why I'm particularly excited about the introduction of the MOON Compass Collection. Kudos to the talented engineers at Simaudio for bringing MOON's exceptional audio engineering and musical refinement to a more accessible price point. The Compass Collection creates an opportunity for music lovers to experience the MOON sound without making the substantial investment required for a North Collection system. And additional kudos for recognizing something I've believed for years: Not every audiophile needs or wants a digital-to-analog converter or network streamer built into their amplifier. The MOON 341 Integrated Amplifier embraces that philosophy with a dedicated all-analog design that prioritizes what an integrated amplifier should do exceptionally well: amplify music. With 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, doubling to 200 watts into 4 ohms, sophisticated MOON amplification technology, and a configurable moving-magnet/moving-coil phono stage, the 341 offers serious two-channel performance without unnecessary digital circuitry. For music enthusiasts who already own a quality DAC or streamer, or simply prefer the purity of an analog audio system, the MOON 341 makes tremendous sense. My take? Great high-fidelity audio isn't about how many features you can pack into a component. It's about how convincingly that component brings music to life. The MOON 341 Integrated Amplifier is an all-analog, high-performance amplifier designed for music lovers and audiophiles who value pure signal integrity, refined amplification, and long-term musical enjoyment. Part of the MOON Compass Collection, the 341 combines a fully balanced analog preamplifier, a high-current Class AB power amplifier, and a configurable MM/MC phono stage in a single elegant chassis. With four RCA inputs, including a dedicated phono input, one balanced XLR input, precision volume control, and a 6.75-inch graphical display, it offers flexible control for turntables and other premium analog sources.
